As you may already know, Marbin Shrestha has been in and out of Children's Hospital for months. Initial diagnosis determined that a liver transplant was necessary. His liver improved, but other complications have developed. His white blood-cell count is decreasing and he needs bone-marrow transplant. He is going to the hospital every week for various procedures and treatments. Marbin is the son of Madan and Bandana Shrestha, former Vice President and current Executive member of Nepal Seattle Society respectively.

NSS is organizing a fund raise to show our support as a community and help this young man (by the way he just had his 4th birthday on Nov 25th, 07). During this difficult time, let us come together for Marbin and his family. Your help and concern will go long ways to show them that they are not alone during this difficult time.

Team Nepal is participating in All Nations Cup 2006 Soccer Tournament. This is a great representation of our country Nepal in this international community organized tournament. Nepal Seattle Society (NSS) proudly sponsors Team Nepal for this year's tournament. NSS organized a Fundraiser Dinner on July 9th 2006 at The Everest Kitchen for Team Nepal and raised $856. This fund will be given for the betterment of the Team Nepal for the tournament including team registration etc.

Pranav Dhakal was admitted to Overland Park Hospital in Kansas City to get treated for a rare infection. As of now, his condition is very CRITICAL. The infection has spread throughout his body including his heart, lungs, liver and kidneys. His brain has suffered a condition called sinus thrombosis. Doctors say that it is difficult to cure this condition when only a minimal dose of antibiotics can be administered to him in order to prevent further damage to his kidneys. Nepal Seattle Society(NSS) received an official request from one of our online supporter Mr. Nischal Shrestha (Nepalisite.com) and the friends of Pranav Dhakal to help/support for Mr. Dhakal. We asked our members and friends to help raise funds for Mr. Dhakal's treatments. Within the month of May 2006, we raised a total of $575.00 and sent it to Mr. Pranav Dhakal in care of Mr. Amar Bajracharya, 13920 W. 143rd Ct., Olathe, KS 66062.

Arbind Bhattarai moved to Houston about two years ago from Pennsylvania. He is currently pursuing his studies at Houston Community College. He is a 22-year-old young man from Kalanki in Kathmandu, Nepal. Unfortunately for Arbind, his family, and all of us, he has recently been diagnosed with a serious case of Lymphoma Cancer. He is presently hospitalized at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston. Naturally, his treatment will be expensive.  The Nepalese Association of Houston (NAH) has set up the ?Help Arbind Fund? to help offset the cost of his treatment.

We (NSS) received an official request from NAH to help/support for Mr. Bhattarai. We asked our members and friends to help raise funds for Mr. Bhattarai's treatments. Between Dec.13-31, 2005, we raised a total of $575.00 and sent it to Mr. Arbind Bhattarai in care of NAH.

NSS thanks all of our contributors for your generous support and a huge thank you to NAH who organized this fundraiser "Help Arbind Fund."  We still request all of our member/friends to contribute any amount for this noble cause.
