Amidst the aftermath of a catastrophic earthquake, our beloved Nepal has been hit again! And this time it’s by the massive flood and landslides triggered by incessant rains. So far the flood has claimed the lives of over 200 people and has done innumerable damage to the homes and villages of many Nepali citizens as well as the infrastructure of the country. Over 48,000 homes are estimated to be submerged in Nepal alone. The most affected regions are in the Terai, an economically significant region that will leave rippling impact across the country.

The flood has led to shortages of drinking water and food which will no doubt lead to a humanitarian crisis, as warned by the Nepal Red Cross.

We humbly request that all of you contribute what you can in order to provide funds to the needy to combat this natural disaster. As a community, Let’s come together once again to answer the call for need.

Dear Nepal Seattle Society members,

We are writing to ask for financially supporting our former executive member of Nepal Seattle Society, a resident of WA, Mr Krish Rizal who have been diagnosed with both kidney failure. He is on dialysis now. As we all know the cost for the treatment is going to be very high.  With our combine effort we can help him cover few out of pocket expenses. As a member of a Nepalese community here in WA, we also consider this as our responsibility.

We are counting on your support and hope that you will respond positively to our written request.

We are also asking everyone who read this letter to share this among your friends and family so that we can gather enough fund and help him as much as we can.

It's been more than two weeks since the magnitude 7.8 earthquake rocked Nepal, as the death toll continues to rise to over 8,000 casualties, thousands more have been displaced from their homes and are faced with limited access to food and essential supplies. We are hosting a Fundraising event this Saturday evening to raise funds that will be appropriated towards relief and reconstruction efforts. During the event you will be able to meet with local Nepalese residents, sample authentic Nepalese cuisine, listen to a variety of professionals speaking. We invite you to become a proud sponsor of the event.
