NSS's Annual Potluck Picnic 2007:
 
Nepal Seattle Society (NSS) proudly invites all of you to the Annual Potluck Picnic on Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Lake Sammamish State Park. Since we will have a potluck picnic, our members/friends will bring all types of BBQs, Food, beverages etc.

Lake Sammamish State Park is a great picnic place and we will have lots of fun games for adults and children including volleyball, tug-of-war, kabaddi, badminton, piñata forne, etc. Let us make this picnic a great event of the summer. It is not often we see each other so let us meet and enjoy the picnic.

Food/Beverages:
NSS will provide BBQ Chicken and drinking water. All other foods will be brought by members/friends as potluck. Below is the list of food & beverage for each family to bring:
1) NSS: BBQ Chicken
         : Plates, Spoons, Forks and Napkins
         : Drinking water
 
2) East Side:
    Kirkland - Pulau or Rice
    Bellevue - Aalu-Gopi
    Redmond - Aalu-Gopi
    Mercer Island - Chicken Curry or Goat Curry
    Issaquah - Chowmein & Achar
    Other East side - Chowmein & Achar
 
3) West Side:
    West Seattle/Alki area - Chowmein & Achar
    Magnolia/Ballard/Queen Anne/Vason Island - Fruits & Snacks
 
4) North Side:
   Shoreline/Edmonds/Mt.Lake Terrace - Pulau or Rice
   Everett/Lynnwood/Kingston - Vegetable Curry
   Greenwood/Greenlake - Vegetable Curry
   Bothell/Lake City - Saag/Mix Vegetables(Green)
   University District - Aalu Dumm
   Other North side - Achar & Snacks
 
5) South Side:
   Renton - Chicken Curry or Goat Curry
   Kent/Aburn - Aalu Dumm
   South Seattle/Sea-Tac/Federal Way - Desserts & Green Salad(Cucumber/Carrot)
 
6) Other Area:
    Rainier/Beacon Hill/Capiton Hill - Saag (Green)
    D.T.Seattle - Finger Foods & Soft Drinks
    Others - Finger Foods, Desserts, Snacks and Soft Drinks
 
If anyone wants to bring other items in addition to the above food items they are more than welcome.
 
Games:
These games will be organized at the picnic - Volleyball, Tug-of-war, and Kabaddi for adults. And, Pinata forne, 3 legged race, Drawings, and face painting for children. Games will be co-ordinated by Diwakar Thapa, Pushpa Shrestha, Kiran Shrestha, Som Ghimire, Kalpana Sharma, Bandana Shrestha, and NSS Youth Group. The final/wining team of the Volleyball will play at the 6th Northwest Nepalese Combined Picnic in Portland on Sep.1st on behalf of NSS.
 
Singing/Dancing: We will have a Karaoke singing machine. You are welcome to bring your karaoke CDs (Audio only) to sing with - we would love to dance on your songs. Also, please bring some nice Nepali folk songs of your choise to play and dance.
 
No Alcohol: No alcohol is allowed in the park.

Driving Direction:
The park is located one mile northwest of the City of Issaquah and on the south end of Lake Sammamish. On Interstate highway 90 take exit 15 and go north to NW Sammamish Road which is about one block. Turn left and travel approx. ¼ mile to the park entrance on the right. Look for the picnic shelter at the center of the ground, by the water. We will put up our flag for a land mark.
